HKTGUA Aims

The Guesthouse industry has made a significant contribution to the development of the tourism industry. Large hotel construction takes time, and the construction cost and entry threshold are quite high. When a large number of tourists suddenly come to Hong Kong, the guesthouses have become the most immediate supplement to the hotel room supply. Tourists can enjoy reasonable prices and reasonable accommodation services. Guesthouses, like many other small and medium-sized enterprises, flexibly adjust in the economic cycle of growth and contraction, providing economic vitality and flexibility.

 

The Hong Kong Tourist Guesthouse United Association (hereinafter referred to as "the Association") is a group of industry pioneers who have worked in the this industry for more than 40 years and dedicated their lives to the development of the tourism industry in Hong Kong (all guesthouse operators and managers called "Hoteliers"). This industry has attracted many young entrepreneurs to join us. We hope that the Association will become a diversified communication platform to help the guesthouse industry keep pace with the times and make continuous progress.

During the development of a civilised and progressive society, the requirements for the construction, fire safety and service level will become higher and higher. The Association will strive to help members to meet the requirements of the licensing department to ensure travellers safe.

 

The Association will formulate self-discipline in the industry, establish an inspection mechanism to require members to comply with the regulations of the Licensing Department. We learn from three-star hotels, to request visitors to make a complete registration process for check-in. Illegal workers and people engaged in illegal activities are forbidden. We will issue certificates or labels to distinguish high-quality guesthouse from low-quality guesthouse, so that travellers can choose their own accommodation more accurately.
